Artist Spotlight: Singer & Actor Vincent Paul “Enteng” Evangelista

On Saturday, Dec. 19, at 5:30 p.m., we'll be celebrating the holidays in "The Hope of Christmas!" During our first-ever virtual concert, we'll be showcasing amazing talent from our community. So we'd like to introduce you to some of our featured artists before then. Last up under the spotlight before the big event is award-winning singer and actor Vincent Paul “Enteng” Evangelista!

1. Enteng’s one of the first Filipino American actors to hit the Houston theatre scene!

The city of Houston is home to the one of the largest theatre districts in the country. Once the COVID-19 situation stabilizes, Enteng would absolutely love to see more Filipino Americans and other members of our Asian American community lighting up Houston’s stages!

2. Enteng enjoys travelling, but he’s afraid of flying.

Some of his first international flights were as a touring member of the University of Santo Tomas Singers. He also travelled quite a bit as an original member of The Ryan Cayabyab Singers.

3. Enteng’s an avid cook and baker.

He loves cooking, especially Filipino food. His specialty is twice-cooked pork adobo and traditional sinigang. During quarantine, he discovered his baking prowess, and continues to bake lots of cakes and pastries. (Sarap!)

4. He’s a father to a pupper!

Last holiday season, Enteng adopted a dog – a spur of the moment decision. At the time, he was obsessed with “The Witcher” on Netflix, so he named his new doggo Witcher! Witcher’s a one-year-old maltipoo and Enteng loves him so much!

5. When Enteng goes to Broadway, he stage-doors!

Enteng loves meeting Broadway’s starry performers after performances. He likens them to deities coming down from Mount Olympus and meeting us mortals.
