Artist Spotlight: FASO Musician (& Frontliner!) Jamil Sidi

On Saturday, Dec. 19, at 5:30 p.m., we'll be celebrating the holidays in "The Hope of Christmas!" During our first-ever virtual concert, we'll be showcasing amazing talent from our community. So we'd like to introduce you to some of our featured artists before then. FASO flautist and piccolo player (and frontliner!) Jamil Sidi is next under the spotlight!

1. Jamil is a respiratory care practitioner. He additionally has experience as an EMT.

Jamil’s a hero who’s literally saved lives during this pandemic. The FASO fam deeply admires his commitment to keeping his community safe and healthy!

2. In high school, Jamil learned how to play seven different instruments!

He can even play six handbells at the same time (with three in each hand!)

3. Jamil says he actively seeks new opportunities and experiences in life.

He considers himself a skincare expert after years of combatting bad acne while growing up. He also enjoys watching Korean dramas and can even binge watch horror movies by himself.

4. Jamil also fancies himself as an organic cooking chef and has some fun food faves.

His favorite drink is a beautiful and fragrant rose green tea with lychee jelly. And chicken wings are his go-to comfort food.

5. Jamil shares his musical gifts with others.

Jamil not only plays flute and piccolo with FASO. He also volunteers as a flutist at Holy Family Catholic Church in Glendale, California.
